donkey lover Sofia, founder of the burrosartes.com shelter invites you to join her on her donkey-transhumance PREMIERE! Walk & Graze through the interior of the Costa Vicentina, at the foot of the Monchique Mountains.
Its time Sofias dream comes true: To become a shepherdess accompanying the donkeys through the country side. Transhumance through semi-abandoned land where the owners welcome us with open arms. I invite all who visit us to join me this first step (as well as all following). Since always I felt a great attraction for shepherds of cattle, cows, goats and sheep.
Seems to me the closest to the naturalness of the animals, unity we are, a peaceful, nourishing enviromnment - mother nature, exposed to all elements. Having in my heart beautiful examples like Robert from Happy donkeys (Monchique) and donkey transhumance iniciatives in France as well as on Canary Island, Australia.... Another positive aspect: Sustainable, machine-free land clearing.
March 28, 10h00, we start with a introduction on animal behaviour and our best behaviour to keep the herd together on the path, on the right pasture.
There will be more relaxed and others more dynamic moments - keeping us on our toes at all times, that's for sure. We can take gitar, flute, notebook, paintng equiptment, book to read our keep it simple just ourselves ready to observe, act, be in the moment with this fascinating truely clear and honest animal companion, the donkey.
And, of course, we will also enjoy a picnic together. Everyone comes with their own supplies and we share, in this case except for the donkeys ;)
