International Shipping, Customs, Duties & Taxes

When placing an order to ship products, you are responsible for ensuring that the product can be legally imported to its destination.

Recipients of international orders may be subject to import taxes, fees and customs duties (referred to as Import Fees), levied by the customs office of the country where the order is destined. Import Fees vary according to the customs regulations of the destination country.

The exact amount of import taxes cannot be predicted and detailed by Rota Vicentina until the goods are cleared through customs, as each country has its own import taxes and calculation variables.

Examples of some of the factors used in calculating the Import Tax are (among others):

  • Product category and price

  • Shipping costs and package weight

  • Customs clearance channel

  • Import taxes based on custom duty amounts

Customs policies vary greatly and some countries do not charge import duties for orders below a certain minimum value. Contact the customs office in your destination country for more information.

The recipient of the order is the importer and must comply with all applicable laws and regulations of the destination country. Customs delays may affect original delivery estimates.

Customs in some countries or regions require the importer to provide a form of identification before releasing a parcel, such as a passport, tax ID, etc.

Please note that outside the European Union, for example, countries such as Canada or the USA are charging for customs clearance of an order with a total value of 30€, around 35 dollars. This cost is in addition to the carrier’s postage, which has already been paid to Rota Vicentina. This information is for information purposes only and is not binding.
