PHOTO EXHIBITION “TRECHOS – ARRIVAL OF THE TRAIN TO LAGOS 1922-2022”
Pouca Terra, Pouca Terra…, by Andrea Inocêncio AKA malandr(e)a – Docapesca
Pouca terra, Pouca Terra...| Andrea Inocêncio: My vacations during the summer were, since I was born, spent with my family in the Algarve. My maternal grandparents were from the Algarve. Then, as an adult, I also started to spend some seasons outside the high season, when work allowed me to do it independently. The issue of using public transport to get to the Algarve is a situation that has been with me for years. Find the fastest, most comfortable and economical way to travel. The use of own car has prevailed due to schedules, comfort and the need to be able to travel to other areas, despite the much higher costs. Having no problems with schedules, nor the need to travel, I have opted for the bus, although the train is more comfortable. The bus is a 5-minute walk from the house in the Algarve, it is cheaper, has more schedules, and I transfer only once. By train, it is necessary to transfer once, twice or — leaving Figueira da Foz — even three times. It's more expensive than the bus, it has fewer schedules, and I need someone to pick me up at the station — which is a few kilometers from home. My artistic proposal will be based on some of these issues — now, more specifically associated with the train journey to Lagos.
