"In this 4th edition of the event, Lagos once again bets on two quality shows, with the castle walls of Lagos and the Cais das Descobertas as the backdrop – “Correr o Fado” by Quorum Ballet on the 1st of September and MARO on the 2nd. Tickets are already on sale.
On the 1st of September, people “dance” Fado. By fusing this very Portuguese genre with Contemporary Dance, “Correr o Fado” breaks with the traditional way of seeing, hearing and feeling the genre, demystifying its nostalgic and melancholic connotation. Thanks to the talent of the Quorum Ballet company, already well known in Lagos, the show is an authentic celebration of the greatest hits of this genre with so much soul, interpreted through dance.
Already with a solid career in Portugal and abroad, MARO is the great protagonist of the 2nd of September. The Portuguese singer, songwriter, producer and multi-instrumentalist, famous for the theme “saudade, saudade” that represented the country in the Eurovision Song Contest 2022, presents in Lagos her most recent project, “hortelã” (April 2023). Accompanied by the Catalan guitarists Darío Barroso & Pau Figueres, with whom she recorded the new album, MARO shows an intimate and vulnerable side, a new chapter in her career.
“Noites no Cais” take place on the 1st and 2nd of September (21:30) at Cais das Descobertas and Jardim da Constitution.
