In an initiative of the Orquestra Ligeira de Lagos, this modern music festival, which is already in its 2nd edition, will take place between the 22nd and 26th of August and will have two components – a pedagogical one, with music workshops, and an animation one cultural event with several shows in Praia da Luz.
The nights will be dedicated to the festival's concerts, which will take place in Praia da Luz, next to Fortaleza. There are five days of musical shows of the most varied styles and genres, from the vibrant sound of Jazz and Bossa Nova to the contagious rhythm of Reggae, Funk, Hip Hop and Pop. The artists who will be part of this 2nd edition from Lagos MMFEST are Sunset Jazz Session, LANA GASPARØTTI and Panda Collective (August 22); José Martin, OLL SMALL and Mistura Fina + Edgar Caramelo (August 23); Ricardo Jesus Duo, Aruguá and Joydan (August 24); Sunset Jazz Session, Dixie's Land OLL and Orquestra Ligeira de Lagos (August 25); presentation by workshop students, Marta Lima and Os Compotas (August 26).
Lagos MMFEST – Festival de Música Moderna is an organization of the Orquestra Ligeira de Lagos with the support of the Lagos City Council, the Parishes of S. Gonçalo, Luz and Odiáxere, the Algarve Regional Directorate of Culture and Gil Eanes Schools.
