Aldeia da Pedralva

The Village of Pedralva was a village dedicated to farming for many years until it went into a depopulation process in the last 30 years. In 2006 it was a set of ruins with 9 inhabitants. After a long process to purchase the houses in the village from a group of about 200 people, it was possible to start the reconstruction process, as close to the original as possible.

Thus was born the “Turismo de Aldeia da Pedralva”, made up of 25 village houses, of 1, 2 or 3 rooms which make you feel as if you are going back in time.  It is open 365 days a year and here you can find all the facilities you can imagine.

You have a restaurant with traditional Portuguese food at your disposal called, “Sítio da Pedralva”, recreational areas like the pool, the community oven or the children’s playground, a Central Café, sitting areas, a library, a video library and even an Activity Centre that is fully equipped.

In this process of giving life to the village of Pedralva, Rota Vicentina has also made its route, going through the heart of the village. An excellent stop for hikers to recharge halfway between Carrapateira and Vila do Bispo.
