Comprising the Historical Way, the Fishermen’s Trail and several Circular Routes, proposes a unique experience of two worlds, between a living and authentic rural culture and a surprisingly wild coastline – fully within Sw Alentejo and Vicentina Coast Natural Park.

Day 01 - Arrival at Faro
Looking for a hassle-free way to start your walking or cycling adventure in Portugal? Arrive at Faro airport and take the train from the Station of Faro to the Station of Lagos. From there, hop on a bus to Aljezur, the perfect starting point for your journey. Alternatively, for ultimate convenience, consider booking a private transfer from Faro Airport directly to Aljezur.

Day 02 - Stage 1: Aljezur - Ponta da Atalaia circuit - Arrifana (17.6 km | +327 m)
Embark on an unforgettable journey through Portugal's Algarve region on foot. On this day, you'll cross scented valleys and small farms, getting a glimpse of the stunning coastline that awaits you in the coming days. As you leave the village, take a moment to admire the valley of the Aljezur river, which stretches all the way to the Amoreira beach. Imagine what life was like in Aljezur during the 15th century, before continuing on to explore the Ponta da Atalaia circuit, an extension of the Fishermen's Trail. Don't miss the chance to visit iconic landmarks like Monte Clérigo beach and the mythical Ponta da Atalaia, where the legends of the Portuguese conquest of the Moors come alive.

Day 03 - Stage 2: Arrifana - Carrapateira (21.3 km | +286 m)

Don't miss the chance to see Pedra da Agulha from Canal beach, or Vale Figueira's vast sand stretch during low tide. Take in the breathtaking succession of hills and valleys, which reveal the most aggressive and inaccessible side of this coastal area. As you arrive, enjoy a privileged view of Bordeira beach's sand dunes and the creek that meets the ocean, in a setting that characterizes the Vicentina Coast's beaches.

Day 04 - Stage 3: Carrapateira - Vila do Bispo (15.9 km | +311 m)
Get ready to experience the essence of Vicentina Coast on foot. After admiring magnificent views over Bordeira beach and the beauty of pristine valleys with little human presence, explore the picturesque villages of Vilarinha and Pedralva. As you head towards Vila do Bispo, be prepared for strong winds. This section offers a unique opportunity to connect with nature. Keep your binoculars handy while crossing the forest perimeter of Vila do Bispo, as wildlife sightings are common, especially birds.

Day 05 - Stage 4: Vila do Bispo - Cape of São Vicente - Sagres (20.1 km | + 212 m)
Discover the magic of the southwestern tip of Europe on foot. As you walk, listen for echoes of the sailors and pilgrims who came before you. Follow the Telheiro Beach Circuit, an extension of the Fishermen's Trail, and take in the monumental cliffs, ancient rock formations, and lush vegetation.
