Luca Argel is a singer and composer of the groups Samba Sem Fronteiras, Orquestra Bamba Social and, together with Ana Deus, of the Ruído Vário project, based on the poetry of Fernando Pessoa. He works regularly with the creation of soundtracks for cinema and dance, and has released five albums in his own name.
In 2016, he edited his debut album “Tipos que tendem para o Silencio”, followed by “Bandeira”, in 2017, and “Conversa de Fila”, in 2019, both highly praised for the intelligence of the lyrics and the sweetness of the voice. In 2021 he returns to editions with the acclaimed “Samba de Guerrilha”, a conceptual album highlighted as one of the best releases of the year in Portugal, where Luca Argel rescues memory and recreates old sambas with an inventive and radically transformed musicality.
Creator of projects and a deep work of investigation and dissemination of samba in Portugal in recent years, the recently released album 'SABINA' stands out.
