AREL was born in Aljezur, in the heart of the Rota Vicentina, with a simple idea: to create a place where quality, simplicity and respect for ingredients are reflected in everything we do. Inspired by the surrounding nature and the laid-back rhythm of the Vicentina Coast, AREL is a welcoming space for anyone seeking genuinely delicious food, freshly prepared each day with care, passion and purpose.

We are a 100% plant-based bakery and kitchen, where fresh bread is baked daily and every product is crafted to celebrate the flavour of natural ingredients. We believe food can be both wholesome and comforting, full of character and creativity, without ever compromising on quality or the pleasure of eating.

Every morning, our ovens produce artisan breads made with slow fermentation and carefully selected flours, alongside a tempting selection of freshly baked vegan viennoiserie, bagels, focaccias and pastries. Throughout the day, our kitchen prepares soups, salads, sandwiches, daily specials and other seasonal dishes, always prioritising fresh, locally sourced and organic ingredients whenever possible.

At AREL, coffee is an essential part of the experience. Our self-service coffee station allows guests to easily prepare their own coffee, cappuccino, latte or matcha, just the way they like it. We use organic coffee and premium plant-based milks, ensuring a consistently delicious drink in every cup. To complete the experience, complimentary filtered water is always available, and on warmer days our team is happy to turn any coffee into a refreshing iced coffee.

More than just a place to eat in Aljezur, AREL aims to be a space where people can slow down and savour the moment. Bright, welcoming and relaxed, it is designed for leisurely breakfasts, light lunches, a mid-morning coffee or simply a well-earned pause during a day exploring the Rota Vicentina.
