Sofia do Vale is an artist and illustrator, she brought us these beautiful works, they are part of a series of embroidered watercolours she is now producing for another upcoming exhibition.
\nFrom the watercolour stains the drawing is born, the embroidered details bring texture and three-dimensionality to these lovely and delicate illustrations that, when looked at carefully, reveal little secrets that make us want to look again, now with our eyes more open.
\nSea and Jungle’ brings the tones of Nature to our micro-gallery, we can observe in these images the relationship between elements such as ‘the feminine’, the Amazon jungle, the animals of power, the oceans and dreams. It is also the meeting between two techniques that have always been passions of Sofia: watercolour and embroidery.
\nIt is a kind of tropical microclimate in S\u00e3o Lu\u00eds, enclosed in this small space of ours, endind 2022 in the middle of a rainy winter.
