Na exposi\u00e7\u00e3o que em conjunto prepararam para a nossa micro-galeria, podemos ver duas linguagens diferentes, diferentes volumes, diferentes formas e texturas mas, que se relacionam em perfeita harmonia, comunicando ideias de equil\u00edbrio e balan\u00e7o, de simetria e assimetria, propor\u00e7\u00e3o e despropor\u00e7\u00e3o, do geom\u00e9trico e do org\u00e2nico. A vida no Alentejo e as imagens que retiram das paisagens envolventes t\u00eam tido uma influ\u00eancia muito forte nestes trabalhos recentes.\\nAs pe\u00e7as do Gordon refletem o seu interesse por superf\u00edcies org\u00e2nicas e formas simples, ideias cont\u00ednuas de paisagens fantasiosas. Usa diferentes tipos de barro, vidrados e \u00f3xidos.\\nAs pe\u00e7as do Ian s\u00e3o, como ele gosta de chamar, 'formas balanceadas'. Com bases pequenas, apoiadas em apenas tr\u00eas pontos de contacto e com superf\u00edcies inclinadas, procuram o equil\u00edbrio f\u00edsico e visual. S\u00e3o feitas em gr\u00e9s, pintadas com engobes.\\nVale mesmo a pena observar ao vivo esta exposi\u00e7\u00e3o conjunta e ver de perto todos os pormenores que distinguem e aproximam os trabalhos destes dois artistas, parceiros no barro e na vida.\"}\" data-sheets-userformat=\"{\"2\":4224,\"10\":2,\"15\":\"Arial\"}\">GORDON COOKE and IAN CHAPMAN<br \/>\n&#8216;Clay Partners&#8217; &#8211; Ceramics<br \/>\nThey are two experienced ceramists, with career as artists and teachers, both from England, they are living and working in Vale Ferro, Odemira for over a decade. In the exhibition that they specially prepared together for our micro-gallery, we can see two different languages, different volumes, different shapes and textures, relating in a perfect harmony, communicating ideas of balance, of symmetry and asymmetry, proportion and disproportion, the geometric and the organic. Life in the Alentejo and the images they take from the surrounding landscapes have had a very strong influence on these recent works.<br \/>\nGordon&#8217;s pieces reflect his interest in organic surfaces and simple shapes, carry forward ongoing ideas of fantasy landscapes. He uses different clay bodies and clay slips together with glaze and oxides.<br \/>\nIan&#8217;s pieces are, as he likes to call them, &#8216;Balanced Forms&#8217;. They have small bases with three points of contact for stability and forms that lean forward then flare backwards, they aim to be balanced physically as well as visually.
