• History of Santiago do Cacém
The tour begins in the village of Abela to discover the Rural Labour Museum and the ancestral ways of agriculture.
Afterwards lunch awaits us at Mr. Eurico’s “casa de pasto” (food house) where in the old days even birth records were made.
The tour continues through the village passing by an old haberdashery that belonged to seven brothers, culminating in the church, a curiously large building for the place where it is located. The group heads towards the historic city of Santiago do Cacém. A historian will guide the group while telling facts and curiosities of this city with a courteous past that still stands out in its architecture. This tour ends with an accordion musical moment - a popular instrument played eruditiously - at the Harmony Society, a cultural space founded in 1847.
