High Level Forum for Sustainable Tourism
Next Friday, the May 14th , Rota Vicentina will be present at the High Level Forum for a Sustainable Tourism.
This online meeting organised by the Portuguese Presidency of the European Union, under the coordination of the Portuguese Ministry of Economy and Digital Transition and Tourism of Portugal, has three parallel debates on Education and Training, Innovation and Digital Transition and also, Sustainability and Territory.
Marta Cabral, CEO of Rota Vicentina Association, will participate in the panel “Promote the green and sustainable transition on territories and regions”, which will address issues such as the challenges of green transition in the tourism sector, new approaches to territorial cohesion and social inclusion as a way to promote sustainable tourism. High-level representatives of the European Union, Member States of EU, public authorities and other stakeholders will be present, in virtual format.
In addition to the opportunity to discuss the sustainable recovery of Tourism as a fundamental pillar for the economic, social and environmental development of the sector, this event results from the work being carried out together with the Member States of EU and the main public and private actors in the tourism sphere, to build a European Agenda for Tourism 2030-50 aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals.
In this Forum, current concerns about the survival of the sector and medium-long term strategies will also be discussed with a view to building the cornerstones that will shape the Tourism of tomorrow.
All sessions will be in English, starting at 9am (Lisbon time zone). It’s a free event and will be broadcast live on sustainabilityforum2021.com. Participation through live chat is open to everyone and those who register will immediately receive the conclusions resulting from this moment of debate and reflection on Sustainable Tourism. These conclusions will also be presented at the meeting of Ministers in the afternoon.
