The southernmost headtrail of the entire MTB network!
Being the southernmost headtrails of MTB network, two of the São Teotónio trails make small rides through the Algarve. The largest and of these routes goes up to Fóia, the highest point of the neighboring Algarve. This particular route can be considered the hardest of the whole network.
Another route goes up to Algares, a popular area among the region’s mountain bikers.
There are numerous routes that mainly run through rural and forested paths and have several smaller single-tracks. The routes travel through a wild landscape of preserved nature, with minimal human presence. In the interior in particular, you will pass by small, quaint villages such as Baiona, Casa Nova da Cruz, Choça dos Vales, Relva Grande, Saboia, São Miguel.
The connection to the coastline is covered by GPS trails, frequently providing wonderful panoramas and passing by Cavaleiro, Cabo Sardão, Porto das Barcas, Zambujeira do Mar, Praia do Carvalhal, Azenha do Mar and the beach and village of Odeceixe.
